Selain alat pengunyah dan pencernaan, gigi membantu kita berbicara. Sayangnya nih, banyak yang “cuek” pada kesehatan gigi.

90,05 % Berlubang…

Meskipun jaringan tubuh yang paling keras, gigi mudah mengalami kerusakan. Menurut ahli kesehatan, 90,05% penduduk Indonesia memiliki masalah dengan karies atau gigi berlubang.

Faktornya bermacam-macam, mulai dari susunan gigi yang nggak teratur, air liur terlalu asam, tambalan yang kurang baik, kebiasaan merokok, sikat gigi nggak teratur, dan lain-lain. Tetapi menrut para ahli kesehatan, karies paling sering terjadi akibat mengonsumsi makanan manis, lalu nggak sikat gigi apalagi waktu malam hari.

Karies mula-mula terjadi pada lapisan email, ditandai adanya titik hitam, cokelat, atau putih pada permukaan gigi. Pada tahap ini gigi belum terasa sakit. Bila tidak segera ditangani, karies akan terus menjalar.
